MARCH 2016

March 1, 2016

When working with glass, it's very fullfilling to imagine a design, create a pattern, and do the work to get the result you were looking for.  However, an artist always holds their breath when they upload the photos of the finished project and wait for the reaction of those who happen across it.

We are very lucky, at Inspirations Glass & Gifts to have a very loyal following of fans who are quick to react when we post a new creation on our Facebook page.  We are also extremely fortunate to belong to a few support groups, of which, one is for the program that we use to create our visions into patterns.  It is no secret that we absolutely adore, and will always support the developers of the program Glass Eye 2000

Last month we were requested, by the developer of Glass Eye 2000 to write an article and submit a pattern to them, for the chance to be featured as Pattern of the Month for March, and we did just that!  Let me tell you, it isn't the easiest thing in the world for us to toot our own horn, but it sure is nice when such a powerful program has a developer that not only reaches out to interact with those who use the program, but also to give them an ego boost by supporting their creations.

Praying HandsPraying Hands is a pattern that we created by request, and actually began as a hand drawn pattern while listening to the story of a friend's father.  While the pattern was being worked on, this friend would continually remark how vivid the story was to him within the glass.  Although this began as a requested custom panel, the finished project remains with us to this day, and we love to watch the sunlight come through it as the sun rises and lowers in the sky.  If you already have license to use, or have downloaded the free trial version of Glass Eye 2000, you may download the .eye file to change the colors, resize, print and work the pattern for your own project.  Be sure to read our article here.
